A Bit Chilly, But Still A Great Hike

It was so beautiful outside this afternoon. I put Hiker in the car and we headed over to Placerita Nature Center. Even it was a little chilly outside it was warm in the sunny areas.

We headed across the parking lot and through the field, then walked through the Oak Grove picnic area and headed for the Canyon Trail.

As we entered the canyon, it became much colder as the sun could not reach down into the bottom.

When we got to the 1 mile marker along the trail, we stopped to rest for a few minutes and enjoy the view.

Headed back down the trail and back to the parking lot. A nice 2.7 mile hike.

  1. Kay, I have to ask you ... aren't you afraid of going hiking alone, with your dog? Those trails look mighty desolate to me, even though they're "national" hiking trails, I'm sure. Maybe there's lots of people around & they're just not in the pictures?

Or maybe I'm just paranoid? :-)

Maybe it's something you just can't think about or you'd stay in the house 24/7 (like me... *lol*). Even in our little town (the town I've lived in all of my 56 years) I wouldn't go walking in places where LOTS of people weren't seen. Things just aren't the way they used to be around here anymore. :( But maybe they still are, where you live.

I always love your pictures & the tales (pardon the pun) of your adventures with Hiker. Thank you for sharing!!
